What is PMTC?

PMTC (Professional Mechanical Tooth Cleaning). is a treatment of preventional medicine. Professional staffs (dentists or oral hygienists) use specialized machine to remove plaque, stain, and calculus on the surface of teeth which cannot be removed by patients themselves.After dining, the leavings of meal will occur reaction of bacteria, and they will transformed to a type of substance that we called "plaque". Plaque is a yellow or white sticky substance adhered to the surface of teeth which contains billions of bacteria in 1micro gram. Plaque has high viscosity, so rinsing mouth cannot clean it. Only the mechanical procedure, such as brushing, can remove it.On the other hand, plaque sometimes gets calcification with the component of saliva, and form a stone-like substance that we called "calculus". It cannot be removed even by brushing.Therefore, PMTC is a procedure to remove these things.

Treatment Procedure

Examination and diagnosis

Checking the condition of teeth and gingiva, and taking oral photo.

Scaling (removement of calculus)

Using specialize machine that we called scaling machine to remove calculus.

Brushing of tooth surface

Using grinding powder and specialized brushing engine (rubber cup, pen-type brush, and dental floss) to remove dirt on the surface.

Polishing

There must be some invisible flaws on the surface of teeth. So we use polishing powder with hydroxyapatite to smooth the surface that prevent from adhering new stain and plaque. It is also a prevention of tooth defect and periodontitis.
